Background

James Year is a documentary and editorial photographer who specializes in still photography, but is also proficient in audio, video, and post-production skill sets. He originates from a rural, working-class background and has six years of professional aviation experience during his enlistment in the United States Air Force. He later graduated from the University of Iowa’s Sociology Program and is currently focusing on labor, technology, and environmental projects as he finishes his master’s degree at Syracuse University.

Starting in June 2023, James will be a nomad on the US Interstate system.
